The NBC-77 SOF gas mask filter is unique because it combines the abilities of three filters in one, without making any compromises. Typically, agencies would have to stock a CBRN filter for chemical warfare agents, an industrial filter for toxic industrial chemicals, and a Reactor filter for radioactive iodine.
Traditionally, CBRN filters were not very good at filtering out toxic industrial chemicals, industrial filters did not work for CBRN, and Reactor filters were solely for filtering out mythyiodide131 or methyliodide129 gas.
